UROC Trail Report July 25th:
Another Friday is upon us and for this weekend it means another Friday night race! Registration is at 6pm at the Pass Powderkeg lodge and racing will start at ASAP. $10 to race with a beverage and prizes afterwards. If you are under 18 you will need a parent to sign your waivers.
Shifting gears…the cows are back grazing in York Creek, and with that comes increased maintenance and trail souvenirs. The cows didn’t get the memo to stay off the trails when they are wet, and caused a bit of havoc on Boulder Dash. Our trail crew worked on it yesterday and got the top section back in action. Use some caution if you ride below the mid point. Just a reminder to all the riders that there are animals of all kinds in the areas that we ride. Luckily there are no cows on PPK!
Speaking of trail crew, they finished up some project on PPK, replacing the rock to ride onto the teeter totter in kids corner, they also cleared Trick or Tree (if anyone is looking for a slower technical challenge), and finished their brushing campaign.
Our area had a lot of rain earlier this week and we have been very fortunate to make it through July with tacky trails in premium condition. No one knows what August will bring, but for now we can enjoy some great riding. Heading into the weekend, the forecast looks great for moderate temps and lots of sun. A great weekend to grab a mid ride snack on the deck at PPK!
